Yoga Mentorship Program: Series One

This program is for yoga teachers and the experienced yoga student. This "beginner" class will bring us back to yoga basics, realign our practice with tradition, and provide new information for those growing their knowledge of yoga. Classes will be fast paced and contain an abundance of information to digest.

 

This is the first in a series of mentorship programs to be launched in 2019. All programs will be required to be taken in order. This program requires mandatory attendance to each class, assignment completion, class participation. (We are doing this old school- There are no certification or CEU's for this class. This class is for self-study and exploration of yoga.)

 

4 virtual classes held weekly and accessible from the comfort of your home. Each class will provide a lesson, opportunity for Q&A, and assignments to be completed in-between classes.

 

 

Each class is 1.5 hours and will be held Tuesday evenings 7-8:30pm EST. (Nov. 27, Dec. 4, Dec. 11, Dec. 18). A preliminary class to discuss the series will be held on Monday, 11/19 at 7pm.

 

 

 

Every week you will be provided with a link to log-in and join the group where a lesson will be provided on the following topics:

Session One: Back to Basics: What is Yoga from it's point of origin? We will look at how yoga came to be, traditional practice of yoga, how it differs from the West's interpretation of yoga, and the 8 limbs of yoga.

Session Two: Diving Deeper: We will explore the Gunas, Yamas and Niyamas, the origin of the mind (masculine and feminine energy).

 

Session Three: Pantheon of Gods and Goddesses: Learn about the most well-known Gods and Goddesses and their qualities. We will touch on major holidays and mantras.

Session Four: Components of Yoga: We will touch on the various yogic texts, and explore the different yogic paths. We will circle back to our first class and with this new information in hand, discuss our yogic practice.

 

Future series will include: Elements and how they relate to yoga, mantras, diet as mentioned in yogic texts, ayurveda, food and water prayers, arti, mudras, puja, fire ceremony, and more.

Ayurveda 101

Have you wanted to learn more about Ayurveda? Are you a yoga student curious about yoga's sister science? If so, this 6 week session is for you!

Session One: Intro to Ayurveda and What are Doshas?

Session Two: Explore the Vata dosha through asana, meditation, pranayama, food, lifestyle, and more.

Session Three: Explore the Pitta dosha through asana, meditation, pranayama, food, lifestyle, and more.

Session Four: Explore the Kapha  dosha through asana, meditation, pranayama, food, lifestyle, and more.

Session Five: Dinacharya practices to build ojas, balance the doshas, and calm the mind.

Session Six: Ayurveda Cleanse through the lens of food, self-care, and supplements.

Intro to Yoga & the Elements

Are you ready to dive deeper into Yoga? Perhaps you have a basis in yoga and ayurveda and want to find the connections between the sister practices? This class dives into the 5 elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether), and discover how they weave between yoga and ayurveda. In this workshop, dive into the through philosophy, asana, meditation, lifestyle, and more!

Session One: Yoga and Ayurveda Basics. Introduction to the Elements.

Session Two: Explore the Earth element through Philosophy, Asana, Meditation, Mudras, Lifestyle.

Session Three: Explore Water element through Philosophy, Asana, Mantra, Meditation, Mudras, Lifestyle.

Session Four: Explore Fire element through Philosophy, Asana, Mantra, Meditation, Mudras, Lifestyle.

Session Five: Explore Air element through Philosophy, Asana, Mantra, Meditation, Mudras, Lifestyle.

Living a Life Reimagined

In this 6 week session we will explore our dreams, set goals, step into who we are, and live the good life.
