Yoga

Bhakti Yoga is one of the four main yogic paths to enlightenment... It infuses joy, divine ecstasy, bliss, peace, and knowledge- Swami Sivananda Saraswati

Susan Kiskis (Jyoti Ma Devi), RYT 300, is a yoga teacher and kirtan wallah with nearly three decades of experience in the practice and study of yoga. She has studied extensively with teachers across the U.S., Europe, and India, most notably with her guruji, Swamini Shraddhananda Saraswati of Kula Kamala Yoga Ashram, and has completed trainings in yin yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and more. She is an Ayurvedic yoga specialist.

Susan has taught workshops and led kirtan internationally (U.S., Ireland, Canada, Austria, India), traveling frequently to India to deepen her practice. As a founding member of the kirtan group The Mas and The Babas, she has toured the U.S. East Coast sharing this devotional chanting tradition. She leads group retreats to India.

Her teaching honors the foundations of traditional yoga while meeting students where they are, helping practitioners cultivate a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them.

The Meaning of OM

This mini workshop explores the history, symbolism, and significance of one of the most familiar sounds used in Western yoga practice. Although OM is often chanted, its deeper meaning and origins are not always well understood. This workshop reflects on OM as an ancient, primordial sound and how it appears in classical texts. You will leave with a foundational understanding of OM and a deeper felt connection to its resonance in practice.

Yoga Nidra—often called the “yoga of sleep”—is a deeply restorative guided meditation practiced while lying in savasana. This practice supports stress relief, inner calm, and a renewed sense of energy, all while maintaining gentle awareness. Participants are guided through a journey of body, breath, and mind, allowing tension to release and clarity to arise. Bring a yoga mat and blanket for comfort; an eye pillow or hand towel to cover the eyes is optional. This practice offers a space to rest, restore, and reconnect with yourself.
