Susan Kiskis (Jyoti Ma Devi), RYT 300, is a yoga teacher and kirtan wallah with nearly three decades of experience in the practice and study of yoga. She has studied extensively with teachers across the U.S., Europe, and India, most notably with her guruji, Swamini Shraddhananda Saraswati of Kula Kamala Yoga Ashram, and has completed trainings in yin yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and more. She is an Ayurvedic yoga specialist.
Susan has taught workshops and led kirtan internationally (U.S., Ireland, Canada, Austria, India), traveling frequently to India to deepen her practice. As a founding member of the kirtan group The Mas and The Babas, she has toured the U.S. East Coast sharing this devotional chanting tradition. She leads group retreats to India.
Her teaching honors the foundations of traditional yoga while meeting students where they are, helping practitioners cultivate a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them.

Transliteration
oṃ pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidaṃ pūrṇāt pūrṇamudacyate
pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate
oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
Translation
Om. Wholeness is That, Wholeness is This. From the Whole, the Whole comes forth.
Removing the Whole from the Whole, the Whole remains.

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu
गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः
गुरुः साक्षात् परब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः
Transliteration
gururbrahmā gururviṣṇuḥ gururdevo maheśvaraḥ
guruḥ sākṣāt parabrahma tasmai śrī gurave namaḥ
Translation
The Guru is Brahmā, the Guru is Vishnu, the Guru is Maheśvara (Shiva). The Guru is verily the Supreme Brahman. Salutations to that revered Guru.

अहं वैश्वानरो भूत्वा प्राणिनां देहमाश्रितः
प्राणापान समायुक्तः पचाम्यन्नं चतुर्विधम्
Transliteration
brahmārpaṇaṃ brahma havirbrahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam
brahmaiva tena gantavyaṃ brahmakarma samādhinā
ahaṃ vaiśvānaro bhūtvā prāṇināṃ dehamāśritaḥ
prāṇāpāna samāyuktaḥ pacāmyannaṃ caturvidham
Translation
Brahman is the offering (the ritual or act of offering), Brahman is the clarified butter, Brahman is the sacrificial fire, and Brahman is the one offering to the fire. By realising Brahman in action, one reaches Brahman alone.
I, having become the universal fire, residing in the bodies of living beings, and united with the inward and outward breaths, digest the four kinds of food (which is chewed, swallowed, licked and sucked).
